I have just got back from camping at Mt Holdsworth for 2 nights. It was fun. Just beside the spot we were camping was a swimming hole with a big rock you could jump off. I jumped off heaps of times!!!!!

Thanks for the photos , it looks rather chilly!! We had a cold snap the other day and it was 14 c and we thought that was cold. The days are getting shorter and daylight saving will finish on 4th April so it will seem really dark in the evenings. The sun is setting at 7.15 in the evening at the moment. Meschka never came back to school (shifted) I will check who is Euan F's buddy.

how are you thanks for sending the photos cant wait to see yours. Yesterday i went to Rippa rugby and we all got two tickets to the hurricanes vs sharks next Saturday. We represented Samoa and got a t-shirt we got in the seme finals against Argentina and we got to face wales and won 9-1 when we faced Italy we won 6-5. When we got back to school we had to do athletics we did sprinting and throwing we didn't get to do high jump on throwing we had to start from one cone and throw a tennis ball and knock over a norther one far away i didn't hit it but a person from Kowhai called Kayleen hit it got a pineapple lump.back to rippa the first game we played we lost two a draw because U.S.A. got the first try we played every other game and got all the first Trys that was good because if the game is a draw the team that got the first try wins the game. Yesterday we did art and i did a high jump.

We have shared some of our writing to Google Docs, there were a couple of children away at Rippa Rugby so they will catch up tomorrow. We realise that you only have one week before the holidays so we are not expecting comments but some of our success criteria were: A opening sentence which captures the readers attention, varied sentence beginnings, ideas sequenced logically and written in first person. Our holidays start on Good Friday and we are back on 19th April, (only 1 week difference this time). good luck for your assembly. Hi All

Thanks very much for trying out the circuit. It was great to see your photo. We were busy last week with our Parent and Pupil Maths Workshop. It was really good fun. Our class made up problems for their parents to solve and it was interesting to see if they used the same strategy (eg draw a diagram, use cubes, multiply) as their son/daughter. We are nervous and excited about doing our Assembly to the P4 to P7 this Thursday. It's called 'Celebration of Skills'. We have a mix of music (drums, singing, violin, recorder, guitar, piano), a Powerpoint presentation about Islam followed by a play about Ramadan. The skills are demonstrating, peer teaching, illustrating, communicating etc. Our camera was lost but has been found so we hope to get photos of the children sent to you Thurs and Fri. I have had no classroom assistant for a few weeks so apologies for the lack of messages. I'm hoping all of your pupils have now had a message from their e-pal? We finish on Fri 26th March for 2 weeks. Our summer term starts on Monday 12th April. Our academic year comes to an end on Friday 2nd July. We will be finding out about transport and space next term. I will ask the class for ideas about what we should focus on in our blog/google docs. Any thoughts? We liked your idea about the children picking names and being extra kind for the day. We are trying it on Thursdays and Fridays.

Wellington Storm

Hello everyone, as Callum has said a storm hit the Wellington region on Friday evening. It reached Masterton at around 5 pm. Here is a You Tube clip showing it hit Wellington, it was travelling very quickly and blew roofs off houses and uprooted trees, and 2 hours later it was gone.

Also, in Masterton we have an annual world-famous Sheep- shearing competition called the Golden Shears. This year their was another competition to celebrate the Golden Shears 50th Anniversary, "The best dressed sheep" competition. In class we decorated a cardboard sheep for it and I took it on parade down Masterton CBD for the competition. Kitty entered a sheep decorated with the Scottish Flag.

And last, but not least, a big storm hit the Wellington Region on Friday and the TV news was on the Wellington skyline live looking at the storm (they didn't come to Masterton because we don't have even a harbour!!!). Here are my pics. I thought about sending them in to TVNZ with the hope they might appear on the weather news but I decided not to.

Hello again. Whats up? On Friday, we went to the swimming centre. It was fun. The pool was deep. Yesterday we went to parliament. It was fun going to parliament.
The train ride was long! at least 2 hours or a little less. It took longer to get to Wellington than i thought. While we were going around the parliament buildings, we came across this big clock. Our tour person said that a long time ago, people had to pay 120$ each year for wearing a watch or for having a tv. Now people can buy watches without having to pay 120$ or more each year if you buy a watch or tv. After that, we went outside and went to the park. Then we went home. At 6:15. Have you been on any school trips lately?

Hi Fardeen, what have you been doing on monday 1st we went on a school trip to Wellington the capital city of New Zealand. We went to parliament witch is right next to the train station of Wellington. We went on tour with a lady who takes schools around to have a look around all three building. We almost met John keys the prime minister of New Zealand. he owns the top floor of the bee hive witch is his office and no one is allowed in there. one of the buildings burnt down a long time ago. We went on a flash train to Wellington and back to Mastertonon the same train.
