Hi Callum
On Monday we went to Parliament. It was fun. It is actually not that old (compared to some Government Buildings). It was built in the time of George V and the oldest building dates back to some time in the 1800's.
Our Tour Guide, Pat, showed us round the Debating Chamber and the Select Commitee Room and told us what they were used for. The Debating Chamber is where they debate issues and decide whether they are appropriate enough to go to the Select Commitee, where the laws are looked at further and made official.
We also went to the Press Conference Room which was going to be used at 4:00 PM for one. In the Select Commitee Room we debated a made up bill (what a law is before it is passed) that said every Friday children under 15 would get a free Chocolate ice- cream. We found out that we could think of heaps of different problems with it including thet we didn't like Chocolate flavour.
